The design is rich with imagery and information.  The central focus is a stylized depiction of the state of Kentucky, rendered in a bright yellow and outlined in a dynamic pink. The outline of the state creates a perfect background for the text "2015 Kentucky Derby Festival miniFUN RUN."  The text is bold and easy to read.  Accompanying the text is a horse head and a wing, symbolizing speed and the event's connection to the Kentucky Derby. The design incorporates a fleur-de-lis, the city's emblem, adding a touch of elegance. The text "LOUISVILLE - KENTUCKY" is placed around the lower edge, anchoring the location.  The medal also features the sponsors' logos, including Humana Vitality and Subway, which are integrated into the design.

The PVC material gives the medal a smooth, slightly flexible feel, allowing for intricate detailing and bold color choices. The medal is attached to a complementary blue ribbon, ready to be proudly displayed.
