Made of zinc alloy, the medal is circular, with a diameter that appears to be approximately 60mm. The front of the medal features an intricate design. The main elements of the design are the words "SWIM ALBERTA SPRING CHAMPIONSHIPS" in a combination of blue, white, and red. The words are arranged in a layered fashion. Above the word "SPRING" is a visual representation of a swimmer in the water, which is rendered in blue. To the left of the words is a red and white stylized maple leaf, the symbol of Alberta.
